Music is upbeat led by an amazing band! Most weeks feature an adult choir that sings a classic favorite. We take time during the service to share our praises and prayer requests. We tell stories of God's faithfulness. We learn from God's Word through inspiring and applicable sermons. Some people dress up. Some people come as they are. Everyone is welcome... just as they are.
Jesus saves us from sin and from ourselves. At Peace, Jesus is more than our savior, Jesus is our example. We try to live the life Jesus would live if Jesus were living our lives.
Our heritage flows out of the Reformation in the 1500's when believers committed themselves to reading the Bible and allowing God to shape their lives through his words to them.
From sponsoring Laotian refugees in the 1970's to mentoring elementary school students today, Peace Church is dedicated to improving the lives of those in our community and world.
We believe God doesn't want people to put on a show. God wants people to SHOW UP... however they are, whatever they believe, no matter how broken. God so loves us all!
Tim Rotman, Lead Pastor
What do we believe?
We are a part of the Reformed Church in America, and our history, theology, and mission are reflections of this relationship. We believe the Bible is God's revealed word. We believe Jesus is God's Word made flesh. We affirm the historical truths of the Christian faith as expressed in the Apostle's Creed.
Beyond that however, we have our differences. Some of us grew up learning the Heidelberg Catechism. Many of us did not. Some of us grew up in Reformed churches. Some of us grew up Baptist, some Lutheran, some Roman Catholic. Many of us didn't grow up with much of a Christian background at all. So... what do WE believe as a church?
We believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit who are uniquely Three, and indescribably One. We believe we are made in God's image. We believe that God created the world and called it good, (though we disagree on how long that took ; ). We believe that Sin entered the world and brought a brokenness that affects us and infects us all. We believe God gave us his written word to show us how to find God and know God despite our broken lives and broken world. We believe God sent Jesus to save us from our sin, and to save us from ourselves. We baptize babies and we baptize adults. We sprinkle and we immerse. We are made up of liberals and conservatives and everything in between. We are committed to unity, purity, and peace. We don't major in the minors, but focus on the centrality of the cross, and most of all... Jesus.
We believe that Jesus is the fullest revelation of God's Will, and God's Word. To know Jesus is to know God. This is why we sum up what we believe by saying we are "Being and BECOMING more like Jesus to help our neighbors know God."
We believe the world needs more Jesus.
The Church needs more Jesus.
Christians need more Jesus.
You need more Jesus.
I need more Jesus.
In the end, we believe that God is love, and Jesus came to let us and EVERYONE know that. We want YOU to know that God loves you... and God loves us too... even though we often don't deserve it.
