Passions: studying and teaching from scripture, serving the community around me, sharing life with the broken, the oppressed, the downtrodden, and the forgotten people of the world.

Thanks for checking out my bio. My name is Mark and I’m a pastor here at Peace Church. Since my title is less than self explanatory, I thought you may want to know what I do around here. I lead our second worship service on Sunday mornings called epic. I preach most weeks there and occasionally try to play in the band. I also work with Celebrate Recovery and the teaching ministry of the church as well as new ministries that come along.

I came here in July of 2008 after graduating from Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan with a Master of Divinity degree. Prior to this I grew up on an Island near Seattle, Washington and then lived in Seattle where I earned a B.A. in Theology and Scriptures at Seattle Pacific University, but most importantly I met the love of my life, Janna.

Janna and I were married in June of 2006. She is amazing, I hope you meet her! We have a super snuzzly (a cross between a snuggle and a nuzzle) black lab named Bentley. Janna is an RN working in labor and delivery.

We hope to meet you, or if we know you then let’s hang out! We are trying to live out our new life in Jesus. We don’t have it all figured out, but we’d love to learn with you and strive to be servants of our church and the world around us.
